Ciao a tutti,
volevo un consiglio. Sto per prendere il suddetto portatile. Ho bisogno di un buon notebook, per programmare e all'occorrenza fare un po' di grafica 3D ( anche se non sono un professionista )...non disdegnando qualche partitina a qualche gioco. Tra tutte le opzioni che il mercato offre, mi sono rivolto ai DELL e verso le uniche soluzioni Centrino 2 che offre: ossia Latitude e Precision. Alla fine ho scelto i Precision per la scheda grafica più performante, anche se come design avrei preferito la mise del Latitude ( e la sua CPU P9500 ). Ho quindi contattato un commerciale DELL per un preventivo:

A parte che alcune voci che con capisco, tipo quelle relative al DVD, credo che non manchi nulla. Il loro primo prezzo di listino era 1788€ ( IVA e trasporto inclusi ); io lo avevo fatto più per curiosità che non per reale interesse, ma ci stavo pensando...fino a che stamattina non mi hanno chiamato per sapere se avevo deciso e mi hanno fatto un'offerta di 1584€ (IVA e trasporto inclusi).
Che faccio? Accetto?

attento che una risoluzione WUXGA su uno schermo da 15 pollici rimpicciolisce davvero in modo eccessivo
poi vedi tu
la dotazione hardware e' mostruosa

Per la risoluzione credo vada bene così, alle brutte ingrandisco i caratteri

il prezzo è vantaggioso, i notebook professionali di Dell contano molto sul fatto di offrire configurazioni di alto livello ad un prezzo basso

A me sembra bello tosto: una ottima macchina per l'utilizzo di software ISV, professionale, potente, accessoriata. La risoluzione dello schermo serve tutta per aprire il maggior numero di pannelli funzione, anche se in effetti dovrai ben configurare la grandezza dei caratteri altrimenti ci si acceca!

oggi devo far sapere al commerciale se accetto o no. L'intenzione è quella di prenderlo, però la durata della batteria mi preoccupa un po'...cavolo potevano mettere il P9500 come processore ?! Almeno si risparmiavano 10Watt !!!

Il TDP di 25W e 35W al quale ti riferisci è quello massimo: si spera che durante le sessioni di lavoro, la differenza non sia così tanta (a parte che nei rendering). Comunque il P9500 dovrebbe anche costare di più. Di sicuro, se prendi una batteria da 9 celle, non avrai nemmeno problemi di autonomia.

se il tuo dubbio è Intel Core 2 Duo P9500 - T9400 non ti preoccupare, la differenza in termini di consumo della batteria e' irrisoria (se c'è....)
al massimo è lo schermo a doppia lampada a drenare batteria!

Ragazzi, sono ore di fuoco: devo ordinare entro oggi. Riassumo la situazione.
Qualche giorno fa ho fatto un preventivo a scopo puramente informativo per l'acquisto di un note Precision 4400M; loro mi hanno fatto una offerta MOLTO conveniente e questa offerta mi sta tentando molto, anche se tuttavia non sono un grafico che fa del 3D la sua professione ( però vorrei imparare a usare Blender e programmi simili; un note carrozzato come questo mi tornerebbe utile). A me il note serve principalmente per programmare, fare qualche partitina di tanto in tanto non guasta ( e come ho detto poco fa, anche per fare grafica a livelli amatoriali ). Ora però sono nel pallone più totale e mi serve una mano per decidere la cosa giusta da fare; l'unico punto fermo è che voglio un Centrino 2 con uno schermo decente che abbia la risoluzione più alta della classica WXGA ( 1280x800 ).
L'offerta che mi ha fatto il commerciale DELL è molto allettante come ho già detto, ma ci sono un paio di cosucce che non mi convincono:
[ol][li]durata della batteria: il suddetto note ha una Quadro FX 770M, un processore T9400 e uno schermo WUXGA a doppia lampada. Tutte cose che ne abbassano la durata.[/li]
[li]la sensazione, sentendo anche quello che dicono alcune persone che ho sentito, che questo note per me è sprecato: non sfrutterei mai la scheda grafica al massimo delle possibilità; inoltre è un elemento che abbassa la durata della batteria.[/li]
[li]L'assenza dello schermo LED WUXGA ( che nello store americano figura com "Coming Soon" ).[/li][/ol]
Valutando queste 3 cose, sto pensando anche di farmi fare un altro paio di preventivi
[ol][li]Latitude 6500E: in più ha il processore P9500, quindi più batteria, mantenendo lo schermo WUXGA. In meno ha la scheda grafica: solo una Quadro NVS 160 da 256MB di memoria video e un bus a 64bit ( la Quadro FX è più performante ed ha un bus a 128bit ).[/li]
[li]Precision 2400M: in più ha lo schermo LED, ma a risoluzione inferiore. Questo vuol dire più batteria, ma meno cose visualizzate a schermo ( ossia meno codice Java da vedere tutto insieme, e meno comodità ad usare Eclipse; ma comunque visualizza più cose di uno schermo standard WXGA ). In meno rispetto al Precision 4400M ha la scheda grafica più tranquilla, ma sempre Quadro FX ( quindi credo più potente della NVS montata dal Latitude ).[/li][/ol]
Per concludere: che devo fare??? O almeno voi che fareste? Diciamo che il mio budget è intorno 1500€ (+ o - 100€ , ma è ovvio che meno spendo e più sono contento ).
Vi prego, sto nel pallone più totale, datemi un consiglio illuminante. Devo decidere entro oggi alle 17:30
