Avevo appena due giorni fa aperto una discussione su come installare Win 7:

K88 (che ringrazio) mi aveva tolto i dubbi che avevo e pensavo che una volta backuppati i drivers acer su dvd avrei potuto tranquillamente installarli su win7 per far funzionare tutti i pulsanti a cui faccio riferimento nella discussione sopracitata (come il tasto per passare da una scheda video all'altra o la rotella del volume).
Insomma formattato con win7 i suddetti tasti non standard, non funzionano come un pò mi aspettavo.
L'unico problema è che non mi rileva il lettore DVD!!
Non ricordo nemmeno il nome o il tipo!
Sono anche andato sul Bios nella sezione boot...
niente...non lo vede nemmeno lì -__-

Il dvd coi driver domani mattina usando il computer dei miei lo farò diventare un iso e vedrò di tentare in quel modo.
Ma se non dovesse andar bene per ripristinare i tasti? e per il lettore??
Qualche idea??? soluzione???

Ma avevi scaricato i driver per Windows 7 o stai tendando di utilizzare quelli per Vista?
Per il lettore DVD sicuramente hai installato qualche driver sbagliato (chipset, ecc...).

Si per quanto riguarda tastiere e schede video devo solo installare i drivers adatti.
Ma per il lettore sembra che sia proprio un problema di windows 7 con certi lettori dvd, tra cui guarda caso il mio che un TSST TS-L633b.

Questo è preso da un forum inglese ma lo avevo trovato anche proprio sul sito Microsoft anche in italiano ma non riesco a ritrovarlo:
Following the installation of Windows 7 RTM some users may find that their DVD drives will be rendered inaccessible, even though the devices functioned under normal parameters before the deployment of the latest Windows client. Microsoft noted that it was aware of the issue, and provided a few workarounds for the affected customers to regain DVD drive functionality. According to the Redmond company symptoms involve completely or only intermittently inaccessible DVD drives post-Windows 7 installations. According to Microsoft, there is an issue with the firmware for some DVD drive products and the Adaptive Link Power Management (ALPM) in Windows 7.

The software giant even revealed the specific devices that are affected by problems: “This problem may occur if you use one of the following DVD drives on the computer: Sony BC-5100S DVD, Sony BC-5600S DVD and TSST TS-L633B DVD+/-RW.”
According to Microsoft there are two workarounds that end users can turn to. The first is the simplest, and it involves updating the firmware for Sony BC-5100S DVD, Sony BC-5600S DVD and TSST TS-L633B DVD+/-RW. “To check for an applicable firmware update, contact the manufacturor of the DVD drive,” Microsoft noted.
At the same time, the Redmond company presents an alternative designed to let Windows 7 users regain DVD drive functionality in the eventuality that a firmware update is not available. The second mitigation involves disabling the Adaptive Link Power Management (ALPM) feature.
“ALPM is a feature that puts a hardware device into sleep state after 100 ms of idle time. This is a power-saving feature. After you disable ALPM, you can still configure the drive to run in any one of three power plans: Performance, Balanced, and Power Saver. However, you cannot still benefit from the additional power saving that is provided by ALPM,” Microsoft explained.
In order to disable ALPM users will need to first open a command prompt. Just enter cmd in the search box under the start menu and right click the selected result choosing Run as Administrator. There are a total of six commands that users must run, Microsoft revealed, all of them included below. Commands must be executed in this order:

Provando ad aggiornare il firmware non funge e non sono neanche sicuro di averne trovato uno adatto.
Provando a disattivare alpm che sembra essere la causa seguendo le istruzioni di microsoft non funziona.
Nel prompt dei comandi eseguito come amministratore digito quello che riporta ma dice:
"Invalid Parameters"
E non capisco come fare!

Si, sei stato un pò sfortunato perchè hai proprio uno dei pochi lettori che hanno problemi con l'ALPM di Windows 7. Solitamente la prima cosa che si consiglia è di disabilitarlo ma non è la vera soluzione al problema, è come disabilitare l'AHCI dal BIOS che dovrebbe portare comunque al funzionamento del lettore in Windows 7. La cosa migliore da fare è aggiornare il firmware dalla versione TS-L633B (D200) alla TS-L633B (D400) che dovrebbe avere il supporto all'ALPM. L'aggiornamento lo trovi sul sito Dell:

Non funziona.
Per installare il driver è necessario selezionare il lettore e dato che lui non lo rileva riporta: No Device Found.
Ne ho trovati anche altri che non sono della Dell tutti con la stessa procedura ma ognuno da lo stesso identico problema.
Ma il fatto che non lo rilevi neanche il Bios è possibile?

Il problema è che cerchi sempre di aggiornarlo da Windows 7, devi seguire la procedura "DOS based firmware flash update" che trovi nella pagina di download Dell sotto la sezione "Installation Instructions".

Ehmmmm...
Non so come ne quanto durerà ma è successo che ho installato demon tools e ora mi funziona il lettore ottico, ho provato a masterizzarci, vederci un film e ad installarci un gioco!!!! XD

Forse grazie ai driver virtuali è stata raggirata l'incompatibilità....
